 On November 15th, Bola Moyo celebrated its 1 year January–Held first board meeting, received first donation, and opened bank accounts February/March–Submitted forms & were approved (1 month to the day) by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization April–Created and mailed first newsletter, and spoke on a panel for Jubilee’s Global Connections Tour May-June–Conducted further research in Malawi, met current Malawian partner Margaret & began sponsoring the school fees for 3 orphaned children. Board of Directors approved a small salary for the Executive & Program Directors September–Created video “Talking with Happiness,” and finalized new logo October–Held a fundraising tour throughout California churches – raised nearly $6,000 and met new monthly partners. After the tour, we coordinated and sent funds for a community garden project in Balaka, Malawi – to benefit 5 needy families November 18–Portland’s newspaper The Oregonian published a small story on Bola Moyo’s community garden November 19–We held a THANKSforGIVING DINNER for Portland-area supporters
