David Johnson will be coordinating Bola Moyo’s stateside operations while Dustin and Cara are in Malawi. This includes processing donations, deposits, writing thank you notes, and corresponding with donors. David will also represent Bola Moyo at various upcoming events in Portland, send out monthly partner updates, and help assemble the Bola Moyo newsletter. He will be available to answer any questions or address any concerns you might have while Dustin and Cara are away.
Hailing from the Midwest where he earned a degree in
British Literature from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, David worked most recently in California’s impoverished
San Joaquin Valley as the lead grant writer and research
analyst for Educational Resource Consultants (ERC). His clients included Cal State Fresno; school districts such as Clovis Unified, Sanger Unified, and Fresno County and Kings County offices of education; the Chukchansi Tribe; cultural organizations like the Fresno Art Museum and the Legion of Valor Museum; and local nonprofits such as the House of Hope, which works with incarcerated and at-risk youth in Fresno County. Before working at ERC, David spent four years at a biomedical research laboratory as a lab technician and four years as a web site developer for an international classical music distribution company.
We’re very happy to have Dave on board!
